These terms apply when you order from kawachihanko.com.
1. Orders
Your order is confirmed when your payment is complete. We send a confirmation email.
2. Your name
You are responsible for typing your name correctly. For a registered seal, type it exactly as on your residence card or residence record. We check it again in your proof.
3. Proof and approval
We email you a proof (an image of your seal design). We start carving only after you approve it by email. Changes before approval are free, up to 2 times. After approval, we carve the seal exactly as approved.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel before you approve your proof and get a full refund. After approval, you cannot cancel.
5. Registration
We make registered seals in a size and name format that most city offices accept. Each city office makes the final decision. If your city office refuses your seal because of the size or name format we chose, we make a new one for free, once. This applies when you typed your name exactly as on your residence card, and, for katakana, your katakana name is recorded on your residence record.
6. Guarantee
If your seal cracks or chips in normal use within 10 years, we make a new one for free, in exchange for the damaged seal.
- Send us the damaged seal with your guarantee certificate or delivery note. We make the new seal with the same name, size and material.
- Shipping both ways is paid by you.
- Not covered: a lost seal, or damage from misuse or accidents.
- To start, email hello@kawachihanko.com with your order number and a photo of the damage.
7. Delivery
We deliver to addresses in Japan only. Delivery times are estimates.
8. Language
These terms are available in several languages. If there is any difference, the English version applies. The Japanese Legal Notice (特定商取引法に基づく表記) applies to the items it covers.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Osaka District Court has jurisdiction for any disputes.
